SICILY. Leontini. Circa 430-425 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.35 g, 4 h). Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. ΛE-O-N-TI-N-ON Head of a roaring lion with open jaws to left; around, three barley grains; to right, laurel leaf. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 55 (same dies). SNG ANS 257 (same dies). Beautifully toned. Light die wear and some areas of weakness, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
